Beyond the legendary surf contest, this has grown into a week-long festival of events including surfing, volleyball, bmx, and loads of music and entertainment on the oceanfront. The East Coast Surfing Championships is North America’s longest, continuously running surfing competition. Known to locals and patrons as ECSC, the competition is also the second-longest continuously-run surfing contest in the world. The best of the best compete at ECSC, including more than 200 of the world’s top professional male and female surfers, as well as an estimated 300 amateur surfers. Today’s Coastal Edge ECSC is more than surfing – it has evolved into a multifaceted beach sports and entertainment festival that offers many visitor-friendly attractions.
